Phosphates

Please click phosphates for a list of typical products. If you require a product not mentioned, or have a specification about which you are uncertain, please contact us.

Phosphate conversions are widely used on steels, with coating weights from 0.2 to 30 gm/m2, and are replacing many solvent clean-only pretreatments.

The lighter coatings are normally used in cleaner/coater processes to give very cost effective methods of preparing steels as well as zinc and aluminium surfaces.

The middle weight coatings are normally zinc phosphates giving enhanced durability as the key property; the heavy weight coatings are normally manganese phosphates and are rarely painted but give high wear and durability characteristics - particularly when oiled.

A recent addition to the range is a Zirconium conversion coating for coating on steel, aluminium and zinc surfaces.
