Mobility Aids Case Study

Trimite first started a relationship with this mobility aid manufacturer, as they had odour issues with their pretreatment processes. As Trimite managed to supply an alternative system, with far less odour, the customer was very impressed. The odour reduction, technical support, product knowledge, supply times and improved mileage all contributed to the decision to trial Trimite powder coatings as well. In addition to this Trimite is the only company in the UK able to support customers with both pretreatment and finishing solutions.

After trialling the Trimite powder coatings for some months, the customer formally switched to using a leatherette powder coating finish. Their reasons for this were:-

• Mileage improved 15% leading to a substantial cost reduction

• Leatherette pattern far more consistent

• Production rejects reduced from intolerable levels, to become virtually non-existent.

• Colour & gloss consistency meant that parts coated at different stages and times matched on assembly every time.
