Trimite started manufacturing coatings in London in 1940, originally supplying cellulose paints for the automotive industry. We soon became known for the quality of our products and our unbeatable technical support.

The company grew rapidly throughout the 1950s and 1960s, when we increasingly concentrated on supplying premium quality industrial paints and coatings. An ambitious acquisition programme gave us the specialist technologies required for new advanced coatings, such as Ministry of Defence approved products.

Trimite entered the powder coatings market in 1982 and opened a specialist manufacturing site in Bristol in 1987. Powder soon became an important part of our product range and in 1990 a new manufacturing facility was opened in Spartanburg in the USA.

A range of pretreatment products was introduced in 1986 and we now supply our own ‘Paintbond’ range, together with products manufactured by some of the world’s leading pretreatment manufacturers.
