There are now less than 80 days to go until Guy Rigby and David Murray start their row across the Atlantic in a bid to be the oldest pair to row across an ocean as part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.
As one of the headline sponsors of this challenge we have been following Guy and David’s progress closely and are starting to feel the excitement build.
With a combined age of 124, the pair hope to enter the Guinness Book of Records with their attempt to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic in December 2021 from The Canaries to Antigua in a 24-foot boat. They hope to make the crossing in 60 days and in doing so will be raising funds for UnLtd, a social enterprise charity that empowers entrepreneurs from disadvantaged backgrounds in and around the UK.
Training is really stepping up now, with a recent 56-hour stint from Falmouth and back, including 19 hours of night rowing and covering over 200km.
We were also delighted to receive these beautiful illustrations that the team at another sponsor, Rocketmakers, had commissioned for The Entrepreneur Ship adventure, by illustrator Lydia Cockcroft.
