Pretreatment

Pretreatment Chemicals and Processes for Metals

‘Pretreatment’ is the process of chemically treating metal surfaces, usually by cleaning and conversion coating, before applying wet paint, powder coating, electroplating or another metal treatment process.

Pretreatment processes from Trimite enhance the adhesion, appearance, anticorrosive performance and lifetime of subsequently applied paint or powder coatings.

Our range includes:

  • Cleaners (alkaline, neutral, acidic, solvent)
  • Etchers and Deoxidisers
  • Wipes and brush-on applications
  • Iron Phosphate, Zinc Phosphate, Manganese Phosphate and Zirconium Phosphate conversions
  • Chrome conversion coatings
  • Electroplating agents
  • Paint strippers
  • Additives
  • Test Kits and lab reagents (to assist your own on-site process control)
  • Ready to use solutions

We have REACH and RoSH compliant systems.

We run Training Courses for pretreatment, so your operators can get the best results from Trimite products.

We are also partners with SurTec and Henkel and distribute a range of their materials to the UK market.
